It’s amazing how many significantly underweight people experience a strong fear that there is nothing they can do to change their body shape or strength, believing that they were dealt a genetic hand that cannot be overcome. I receive so many emails from the extremely thin who have been in the gym for many months or even years, sadly achieving nothing for all of the time invested. They feel all hope is lost.

Why? Is it because they were not physically equipped to gain weight and build muscle? It would seem that way, because anybody who has visited the gym for months and achieved virtually nothing loses all motivation and moves on to other goals, although they always wonder if there is something they missed along the way.

And they did. Those who remain skinny do so NOT because their body is incapable of building muscle mass, but rather due to a terrible workout and diet routine that prevents results. But could it be this simple? Well, it’s not so simple after all, because knowing how to eat and exercise is no different than building a house; there are many variables that work together in achieving this goal, and if there is one missing factor from the success equation, all of the time and effort put forth amounts to nothing.

If you are having a difficult time believing that your skinny frame can become an afterthought, please consider that I gained 65 lbs of muscle mass naturally, beginning as a super skinny 16 year old at 130 lbs, and adding more muscle than anybody ever expected I could naturally. The shock on the faces of those who knew me was priceless, as it showed me how much change is possible when the correct plan is put into action.

It’s time for you to turn a losing equation into a winning formula, and if you are ready to finally gain weight and build muscle mass naturally, then take my 90 day MuscleNOW challenge and see your skinny body transform into a muscular powerhouse, right before your very eyes.

Many who seek to build muscle naturally opt for weight gain powders, which are promoted as providing the necessary nutrients for thin weight lifters to finally achieve their desired muscle gains. This is one of the first supplements purchased by those who wish to add muscle weight, yet, the results achieved by those who use such products more often than not are quite different from what the supplement advertising suggests.

Because weight gain powders are filled with simple sugars, they contribute to massive amounts of fat gain; the reason for this is not only the simple sugar content, but the fact that weight gain powders inherently force the bodybuilder to consume excess carbohydrates in relation to protein, which forces insulin to rise, pushing excess calories into fat cells.

Most are convinced through bodybuilding magazine articles and Internet message forums that to build muscle naturally, the critical factor is to keep calories high and to maintain sufficient protein, which is true on the surface, but harmful if divorced from the proper ratios of protein, carbohydrates and fat, all of which play an important role in hormone manipulation (testosterone and GH). This is a critical factor to anyone who seeks to build muscle naturally, without steroids or any other artificial hormone boosters.

Bodybuilders often feel that weight gain powders are an easy way to reach their caloric requirements for muscle building, yet, because the protein and carbohydrate levels in protein powders are less than optimal, and consist of refined sugars, the excess calories lead to significant body fat accumulation. In addition to the overabundance of simple sugars in weight gain powders, often such products are filled with artificial additives and sweeteners, which can harm health. This is a factor few fail to analyze when opting for weight gain powders in place of real food, yet, like whey protein, weight gain powders are not a healthy option for satisfying the necessary nutritional requirements for muscle building.

Often, bodybuilders feel that they have no choice but to utilize weight gain powders because their appetite will not otherwise support sufficient food consumption for muscle growth, but, a far more effective approach is to create a natural liquid weight gain shake using egg protein powder (that contains no additives or sweeteners) mixed with the proper quantities of healthy sweet foods such as raw honey and bananas. This approach focuses upon natural, healthy ingredients, using the proper amount of each to reach the ideal protein and carbohydrate level, promoting natural muscle building without boosting body fat to unreasonable levels. Instead of artificial sweeteners, this type of muscle building shake focuses on natural sweet food sources to provide the necessary flavor.

Never forget that to build muscle naturally, calories and protein are not the only variables, and to focus on these two exclusively will result in massive body fat accumulation that will harm as opposed to improve the appearance of your body. The MuscleNOW bodybuilding program teaches you exactly how to combine protein, carbohydrate and fats to create the optimum levels of each, as well as how to produce your own natural muscle building shake so that you can achieve maximum results.

Most who seek to gain weight fail to realize that popular bodybuilding “bulk” diet methods also force the body to add a large amount of fat, which ruins appearance. I cannot stress enough the importance of a proper bodybuilding diet in ensuring that weight gained is in the form of muscle mass, as otherwise, fat will comprise the majority of body weight increase; I am sure you’ve heard many brag over 20 new lbs of weight in a short period, yet one must ask, 20 new lbs of what? If it’s simply fat weight, with three inches added to the stomach, you’re not going to improve your mirror reflection, only the scale reading. Again, the goal is to improve appearance as a result of weight gain, meaning you must gain muscle mass, and the only possible way of ensuring such a state is to minimize body fat increase. High calorie, haphazard weight gain diet plans lead to substantial fat accumulation, which is the very opposite of what you wish to achieve — never forget this!

I suffered from very high body fat levels in my attempt to gain weight, and unfortunately, many others follow similar flawed advice that leads to massive fat gains (easily found on various muscle building Internet sites and bodybuilding magazines). If you are looking to gain fat, simply eat large quantities of junk food, but if you’re goal is to improve appearance with muscle, such improvements require specific, detailed diet and weight training rules, none of which originate from “traditional” weight gain tidbits.

Remember, building muscle mass naturally is only possible with proper weight lifting and diet methods, and you risk high levels of body fat through the adoption of common weight gain advice (especially if you decide to use a weight gain powder!). I have personally gained over 60 lbs of muscle mass, and had to burn over 50 pounds of fat due to errors in my weight gain approach; learn from both my success and mistakes through the MuscleNOW bodybuilding program, where I will teach you how to gain weight naturally, without bodybuilding supplements or drugs. The hundreds of muscle building testimonials here at MuscleNOW.com are evidence that my MuscleNOW bodybuilding program is all that you need to gain weight (muscle mass) naturally, without supplements or steroids.

Weight gain powders are comprised of improper protein and carbohydrate ratios, thus can cause significant body fat accumulation, which ruins appearance and can damage long term health. You will add some strength and muscle mass as a result of extra calories that weight gain powders provide (which is just as easily achieved through juice and milk!), but the negative suffered through weight gain powder usage (body fat increase) far outweighs the benefit (muscle mass).

In addition, weight gain powders can contain potential cancer causing ingredients, no different than many protein powders, and far better choices exist for consuming sufficient calories to gain muscle mass without causing your body fat to quickly rise, or risking long term health damage.

You need to embrace proper ratios of carbohydrates and protein in order to produce quality muscle weight gain (which is the goal), while controlling body fat levels; caloric cycling, calorie division, and meal timing are also very important muscle weight gain principles, and all contribute to quality muscle mass improvements.

Weight training, of course, needs to also follow an effective blueprint, and concepts such as cycling of reps, sets, and rest periods, exercise selection, rep speed, and proper grips work together in molding a fantastic body (and producing desired muscle weight gain without a quick increase in body fat).

Believe me, you want to avoid gaining significant body fat during the muscle building process, and in my MuscleNOW bodybuilding program, I offer you suggestions for creating your own weight gain shakes that will allow you to build significant muscle mass, while controlling body fat, without the health risks that accompany weight gain powder usage.

Remember, muscle mass results from an effective weight training workout plan and bodybuilding diet routine, with no supposed band-aid (such as weight gain powder) serving as a valid substitute. I have achieved tremendous results (over 60 lbs of muscle mass gained) through food + exercise alone; when done correctly, the urge for bodybuilding supplements disappears, and I am teaching men and women around the world exactly how to build muscle mass naturally through my MuscleNOW bodybuilding program.
